Xenophile Media has developed proprietary synchronization software to support the deployment of our interactive games and stores.

The REACTOR CMDS (Content Management and Deployment System) was created by Xenophile Media to support a new form of interactive storytelling known as Alternate Reality Games. ARGs are interactive narratives that unfold across multiple media platforms where the story is often affected by the player's interactions.

Xenophile Media has created award-winning ARGs to support dramatic television where clues embedded in TV shows entice viewers to take part in an online game where they can collaborate with other players to solve mysteries. Our ARGs have deployed content across television programs, email, voicemail, telephony, websites, chat, instant messaging, text messaging, online video, print ads, blogs, scavenger hunts and live events.

REACTOR deploys ARG game content according to a dynamic schedule creating the sense that events in the television series affect events in the game world.

REACTOR then tracks the progress of every registered player, creating a customized experience, bringing in-game characters to life using artificial intelligence to simulate communication through email, SMS, instant messages and chat.

REACTOR tracks what information players have received, which videos they have viewed, which emails they have responded to, which puzzles they have solved, etc, and in the process creates a detailed profile of every player.

REACTOR can coordinate the deployment of different interactive media experiences including:

  • Branded online entertainment
  • Cross-platform advertising
  • Political campaigns
  • Online media supporting traditional media

Projects powered by REACTOR include:

  • The ReGenesis Extended Reality Game, Season 1 and 2
  • The Fallen Alternate Reality Game
  • Total Drama Island - Totally Interactive!
  • Rollbots Online

Xenophile Media has developed proprietary synchronization software to support the deployment of our interactive games and stories. SCALE is an interactive TV synchronization tool created by Xenophile Media to broadcast live, interactive content to parallel OpenTV applications, and/or to TV Synchronized (TV Sync) Flash applications on the web for dual-screen viewers (TV viewers who simultaneously surf online).

Xenophile Media pioneered the first live iTV broadcast in Canada with the Live Enhanced Genie Awards in 2004 which was deployed on Bell ExpressVu's satellite system using our customized OpenTV software with a parallel TV Sync Flash version available on the broadcaster CHUM TV's website. SCALE has also been used to broadcast TV Sync enhancements of the Gemini Awards on CBC Television and on cbc.ca and the Academy Awards by Canada.com

SCALE also supports the re-broadcast of the recorded live timings of interactive content across multiple time zones and separate repeat broadcasts.

Projects powered by SCALE include:

  • Live Enhanced Genie Awards
  • Live Enhanced Gemini Awards
  • Live Enhanced Academy Awards
